Hunter Joins Warrior Roster

Women’s Basketball Coach Tressa Shoemaker is excited to announce the signing of Taylor Hunter, a 5’6 combo guard from Olathe, Kansas.

Hunter, a 2017 graduate is transferring from Baker University. During her senior year for the KC Metro Mavericks, Taylor averaged 26.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2 assists, and 4 steals per contest. She was a three-time NCHBC All-Region first team selection, three time NCHBC All-Tournament national team selection, NCHBC Heartland Regional junior player of the year, NCHBC Heartland Regional junior offensive player of the year, NCHBC Heartland Regional Senior offensive player of the year, and tied the state of Kansas single game three-point record with 12 3-pointers made. Hunter also led her team to winning two regional championships, and 2 NCHBC Gold Ball national championships among several tournament championships.

She decided to come to Calvary because she wanted to “build strong Christian friend groups and grow spiritually with my walk with God. I also choose Calvary to be push mentally and physically in basketball and grow my skill level.” She will be majoring in Sports Management with plans to coach girl’s basketball in the future.
