Evans Inks with Warriors

Calvary University head Women’s Basketball coach, Tressa Shoemaker, is pleased to announce the signing of the second member of the 2018-19 recruiting class: Haylee Evans, a 5’7” small forward from Curtis, Nebraska

Evans said she chose Calvary because “I wanted to really challenge my spiritual walk, and I feel like Calvary has the professors and community to help me achieve my goals.” She is planning to major in Elementary Education.

A 3 year letter winner for the Medicine Valley Raiders, Evans averaged 4.5 points, 3 rebounds, and three assists during her junior and senior seasons. She was also named Lincoln Journal Star Academic All-State for the 2017-18 season. Haylee also competed in Volleyball and Track during her high school career.

“Haylee will be a strong force to overcome as she develops into a shooting guard” said Coach Shoemaker. “Her defensive abilities both up high and down in the post are going to be a challenge to get past. I am excited about her heart to be a selfless player on our team and seek out opportunities to make an impact with her teammates. Her coachability will make her grow into a player that will challenge the other opponents that we face this season.”
