As a former award-winning high school running and defensive back, basketball player, and collegiate running back at Mid America Nazarene University, Coach Robby has been around sports his entire life. He began coaching speed and agility for football and basketball 19 years ago. He has had 25 years of weight training experience and six years in the personal training industry.
Now as we fast forward to 2021 Coach Robby is the owner and CEO of a valued partner of Calvary Athletics F3. The goal for his F3 business/ministry is to approach athletes and clients with value-based messages through his testimony as a follower of Christ. His clients are developed into strong, hard-working competitors. He believes that your spiritual strength is just as important as your physical strength. With F3, his mission is to lead every athlete he coaches and trains to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ while developing them as dependable athletes, and competitors for Christ! He enjoys being the Assistant Coach at CU because his passion is so in unison with Calvary University’s mission statement.
“What I enjoy most about Calvary is being connected to the body of Christ,” stated Robby. “I’ve never been a part of a group of men who love Jesus and basketball like this. I was always taught to be a winner, play hard, have a good attitude, but to win at all cost! Here at Calvary, it is about letting Jesus shine through us on the court! People need to see Him in us. The Holy Spirit is alive and well on this team and I leave Calvary everyday refreshed because of being connected to a group of guys who love me, pray for me and hold me accountable.”
From a basketball standpoint Coach Robby focuses on player development, physical training, motivational leadership in love, and fundamentals. He strongly believes in the weight room, speed, and agility as he helps each individual get better every day. His personality with a natural fatherly love for the players, a great competitive spirit, and a drive to never give up have impacted each member of the 2020-21 basketball team. Coach Robby is just one more example of how God is blessing the Calvary Warriors. We are most grateful for his transparent leadership and the daily impact he continues to have for eternity.
