Warriors Defeat Saints

KANSAS CITY, MO – The Calvary University volleyball team (8-4, 4-4 MCCC) snapped a three game losing streak, defeating Midwest Christian College Conference opponent Central Christian College of the Bible (0-12, 0-7 MCCC) in three sets: 25-20, 25-18, 25-16, at the Pyramid Athletic Center on Tuesday.

The Warriors showed tremendous heart during the match, playing against a hard fighting Central Christian squad, without the leadership of head coach Jeanette Regier, who was unable to attend due to illness.

Calvary dominated offensively with a .252 hitting percentage and 42 total kills. Alyssa Splitter contributed 27 assists and 15 digs. Freshman Kaela Gingrich totaled 13 kills and a .706 individual hitting percentage. Tasha Krahn had 13 kills, 6 assists, and 9 digs. Paige Specht and C.J. Lewallen each added 14 digs.

The Warriors are looking to clinch a second place regular season finish in the MCCC, as they continue conference play this weekend, hosting Faith Baptist on Friday at 5:00 CST and Emmaus Bible on Saturday at 12:00 CST.
